We are all focused on the growth and progress of your child's speech and language skills.
Carissa is a compassionate and skilled, ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist who began practicing at Clearly Speaking in June 2022. Carissa has always had an affinity for working with children of all ages. When applicable, Carissa likes to use a play-based therapeutic approach.
She received her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at SUNY Plattsburgh followed by completing her masters in science and education at The College of Saint Rose in New York. Carissa has had the opportunity to partake in clinical experiences surrounding traumatic brain injury, stuttering, and voice disorders in addition to treating speech sound and language disorders within an elementary school system. She has recently completed her Clinical Fellowship at an integrated community preschool in downstate New York, where she worked primarily with students with autism and a wide variety of developmental disabilities.
Carissa is excited to “return to her roots” in New England, as she grew up in central Vermont. In her down time, she loves to explore new restaurants or scenery, try out new recipes, attend country music concerts, and spend quality time with her friends and family.
