Lisa Mitchell, MS, CCC-SLP, Clinical Director
Lisa deeply enjoys working with children, and her passion is obvious. She is an ASHA certified speech language pathologist who has been evaluating and treating children with speech and/or language difficulties for over 9 years.
She received her bachelor's degree from Ithaca College and received a master's degree from Nova Southeastern University specializing in augmentative and alternative communication.
She has experience working with children with a variety of speech and language disorders.
Lisa has worked in various settings including schools for specialized instruction (autism, emotional disabilities and learning disabilities), public schools, hospitals and home based care.
Lisa has been trained in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), TalkTools oral motor therapy, and is advanced trained in PROMPT (Phonetic Restructuring of Oral Motor Targets).
She is also a Hanen certified Speech Language Pathologist, parent educator and certified instructor of baby and toddler sign language.
In addition to being passionate about speech language pathology, Lisa is a mother of two amazing boys, a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a lover of fitness, and a proud wife of a talented triathlete.
Kim Oates, MS, CCC-SLP
Kim realized early in her career as a speech pathologist that she wanted to work exclusively with children.
After many years in a variety of settings, including the public schools, home- and preschool-based early intervention and private practice, she remains enthusiastic and excited about her work.
Kim comes to Clearly Speaking from five years of working at Children's Hospital Boston. She has experience helping children from infancy to adolescence with a wide range of speech and language needs.
Kim has been trained in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and in presenting Hanen parent programs.
When not cross-legged on the floor or at a table working with a child, Kim enjoys singing, handcrafts, hockey and being outdoors.
She has one grown son and lives with her husband and a houseful of furry and feathery friends.
